Our guest will be Terry Myers Zawacki, one of the leading scholars in the WAC Community. Her topic is "What Makes Writing 'Good'?: A Discipline-embedded Approach to Writing Assessment." The focus is on finding ways to teach writing appropriate to specific disciplines – how do we take over after English 125 and 126 have begun the process? What specific skills do students need to write the types of documents specific to each discipline? (See attached flyer for more information). This would be of particular interest to anyone teaching or planning to teach a WI course as well as for anyone who wants to see our students write clear, effective documents in our professions. Please join us. Any questions contact WAC Coordinator Jonathan Hall at jhall1@york.cuny.edu x 5331
