Drums and bari sax (without mouthpiece) will be provided. All other instrumentalists must provide their own horn.

SJP '08 is an intensive jazz performance program that runs June 30 - August 7, Mondays - Thursdays @ 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is a scholarship program for sophomore and junior NYC public high school musicians made possible by College Now and the City of New York. Upon completion, students earn 5 college credits that can be transferred with them when they attend college. This will be SJP's fourth summer and we have performances on the East River at Gantry Park (July 29) and at the Louis Armstrong House in celebration of Satchmo's birthday (August 2), plus a home concert at the York College Performing Arts Center (August 7). Those accepted will rehearse in a professional, big band environment, and get one-on-one training from professional musicians. Students will also receive a metro card plus lunch vouchers for the duration of the program.

]]> No publisher Miguel Bernard Performing Arts Current Student Public Visitors Scholarship Center 2008-12-09T00:36:13Z Event York College Child And Family Center Information Session http://www.york.cuny.edu/events/york-college-child-and-family-center-information The York College Child and Family Center will open a child care and early childhood education program for children of York College student parents beginning Monday June 30, 2008 for summer session II. Enrollment for this session will be limited to 2 to 3 year old children of York College student parents attending summer session. The center will follow the York College academic calendar and will operate Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm for summer session II. Registration packets will be distributed at the sessions; you must attend a session or come to the center office to obtain a registration packet.
