Michael Weaver, who will read his poetry at York College.</description>

<p> Mr. Weaver, an African American poet who sometimes writes in Chinese, is the author of ten books of poetry, including The Plum Flower Dance: Poems 1985-2005 (U of Pittsburgh P), as well of short fiction and plays. In addition to being alumnae professor of English at Simmons College in Boston, Mr. Weaver is also the first Elder of Cave Canem, a NYC literary society devoted to Black poets, and has been both a Pew Fellow and a Fullbright Scholar.<br /><br />For more information, contact: J.
