She specializes in 18th-century music, and spent a year in Germany, courtesy of a DAAD Annual Grant, researching the music and life of Maria Antonia, Electress of Saxony.

April always wanted to grow up to be Errol Flynn. No surprise, then, that she now enjoys playing the gallant young men featured in 18th- century Italian opera, characters such as Cherubino, Idamante and Orfeo. Her performance awards include an Urban Artists Initiative/NYC Fellowship and a Queens Council on the Arts Individual Artist Grant. In addition to the article in the Times, articles featuring her have appeared in the New York Daily News, Time Out New York and other publications.

According to some, Emmett whistled at a white woman. Others say he grabbed her hand and asked for a date. Still others claim he said, “Bye, baby” as he left the store. What followed remains as one of the most brutal and senseless accounts of American racial violence in our history. The Lynching of Emmett Till explores the tragic death of this innocent and well-loved young boy and the powerful impact it had upon the emerging American Civil Rights movement.
