Lance Paladino’s work as a visual artist explores energetic relationships between the physical body, the natural world, and the cosmos. Working in a multiplicity of media and techniques, he creates representational and abstract paintings, drawings, and collages.
He received his BFA from Kent State University in 1991 and an MFA from School of Visual Arts in 1997. He also studied anatomical and life drawing at Spring Street Studio and The New York Academy of Art. While in Austria in 2002 he learned the mishe technique of egg tempera and oil painting as practiced by the artists of the Northern Renaissance. He has exhibited his work nationally and internationally and is in a number of private collections. His commercial work includes illustration for museum diorama and poster design for the underground music scene. Work from an on-going series entitled Improved Postcards has been exhibited at Artists Space and ZieherSmith.
He teaches at York College/CUNY in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. Lance Paladino currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
