Open access (OA) is changing scholarly communication and educational publishing, to the benefit of faculty, students, and many others. Professor Jill Cirasella (Brooklyn College) will define OA, describe its many benefits, explain how to find OA materials, and show how to make one’s own work OA. She will explain the role of repositories in OA and argue that CUNY needs its own repository, with an update on the progress that has been made toward a CUNY repository. Attendees are invited to provide feedback about what is needed and wanted from a CUNY repository.
