Featuring Dr. Anthony D. Andrews

Dr. Anthony D. Andrews talks about his life in the music industry: How he got started in radio; how he began promoting and hosting solo performances and concerts; and how it all connects to his latest venture, managing a multi-dimensional band. He shares the highlight, and lowlights of the music industry from various angles and how it's not always the most talented that are successful in this business.

Anthony D. Andrews was born at Jamaica Hospital, raised in Jamaica, Queens, and attended local public schools before graduating from York College (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science), Baruch College (Master of Arts in Public Administration) and St. John Fisher College (Doctorate of Education in Executive Leadership). In 2002, while supervising a York College Senior Activities Committee Fashion Show, he met his future partner and Host of the Stan the Man Show, Stanley Wilson. Stan invited Tony to come on the show and speak about local and national politics. Stan had never interviewed a politician on the show and thought it would boost the ratings. The show was a "hit" and soon Stan and Tony were hosting Long Island's only Classic Soul and R&B show on 1240 AM WGBB. Before long, Classic Soul, Disco and Hip Hop legends were making regular appearances, and new R&B and Gospel artists were coming through and meeting their idols while also being able to showcase their music and singing range.

Several years later, Stan and Tony began hosting concerts and solo artist's performances; while becoming celebrities in the Classic Soul genre. Stan transitioned in 2012 due to health reasons, but Tony, DJ Smooth B, and Evan Wills remain committed to giving fans what they expect; a quality show with great music from the past and present-day R&B from aspiring artists. These days the show airs on York College's YCRadio.org on Fridays from 6-8 pm. The name has been changed to the Stan and Tony Music Show, which was a request, made by the former Host Stan the Man, and changed posthumously. Tony still hosts concerts throughout NYC and Long Island and is now managing the Mighty Kamm Band, which showcases some of the best instrumentalists in the music business. Tony believes "music feeds my soul, and gives me the energy I need to be involved in so many different projects". Also known as the "Soul Doctor" Anthony remains one of the most recognized Radio Hosts in the Classic Soul genre as he completes his 15th year on radio
