Embroidering For Peace In Memory Of The Victims Of The War On Drugs In Mexico
This collective exhibit is comprised of handkerchiefs which were embroidered in Guadalajara, Monterrey, Florida & NY with the last scenes of the lives of those who died or have been disappeared. The point of embroidering for peace is to generate spaces of visibility, hope, and last but not least, love. The Embroidering for Peace initiative was introduced by Fuentes Rojas (Red Fountains) a collective of artists, towards the end of 2011 in Mexico.
