This year we will screen the documentary "The Dream Is Now," a fascinating and provocative film that examines the issue of citizenship rights for the undocumented. We will have a panel discussion about the film, immigration, citizenship and the Constitution. We are delighted that Manuel Castro from the New York Immigrants Coalition (NYIC) will join us for the discussion. One of our own students, Pedro Oyarvide, will share his experiences as a formerly undocumented student and what it's like to be a "Dreamer."
Every year, colleges and universities across the country are asked to create events to remember the Constitution under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005, Public Law 108-447 (the most recent iteration of the law on Constitution Day).
