To close the York College Theatre’s 2009 season, the Theatre discipline is working closely with the Music discipline to mount York’s first full-scale musical, Little Shop Of Horrors.

York's first film festival, SHORT AND SAVORY: A ( mini) FESTIVAL OF SHORT FILMS BY WOMEN DIRECTORS will feature four films by outside filmmakers and two films by York students. A roundtable discussion by the filmmakers will follow.

Silken Pheonix (Cancelled)

The Silken Phoenix is a live music theatre work for actress and trio (cello, piano and percussion), based on the lives of three extraordinary Asian women poets: Ho Xuan Huong of Vietnam, Izumi Shikibu from Japan, and China’s Li Qingzhao. All are strong personalities and vibrant writers, with direct and immediate appeal to audiences today.
