NY State Bonding Program

The New York State Surety Bond Assistance Program announced at Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s 2012 State of the State address will provide MWBE and small business contractors with training, technical assistance and credit support to secure surety bonds necessary for state contracts. Businesses that have never been bonded or require increased bonding capacity will benefit from this statewide program.

This program provides financial assistance to help small minority and women owned contractors secure surety bonds and state contracts. This New York State Bonding Initiative offers integrated Educational Workshop and Bond Readiness components that run concurrently. Throughout the training contractors participate in one-on-one sessions with bonding professionals and SBDC advisors. SBDC staff will coordinate and monitor the provision of technical assistance including business plan development, marketing, project management, etc.
