What is VITA anyway?

VITA is a free tax preparation program that is sponsored by the IRS.  We cater to low income, elderly and disabled members of the community as well as all students and Faculty.

Do I need to have any experience with preparing taxes or knowledge of tax code?

You do not need prior knowledge of the tax code. We will give you all the necessary information. Absolutely no experience is necessary; we will train you, so be prepared to participate in our training sessions in January.  You do not need prior knowledge of the tax code, either; we will give you all the necessary facts, which is why you are required to participate in our training.
