    <description>The Beinecke Scholarship Program supports students of exceptional promise who intend to pursue graduate study in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Each scholar receives $4,000.00 prior to entering graduate school and an addition $34,000.00 while pursuing their advanced degree. The Beinecke Scholarship Program has an approved list of participating institutions, each of which may nominate one student. The three CUNY approved institutions are Brooklyn, Hunter, and Queens Colleges. Application materials are submitted through the campus liaison.

    <description>Thirty-two scholarships are awarded for two or three years of study at Oxford University in a field of the candidate’s own choosing. </description>

<p>The scholarship pays for academic fees, plus an allowance to pay for travel fares and personal expenses. Candidates should have a GPA of 3.75 or higher and are selected on the basis of intellectual distinction, leadership, and service. The scholarship is highly competitive.</p>

Deadlines and Dates for Fall 2011 Rhodes Scholarship Applications</strong></h2>
<ul><li>Applicants are advised to check their own college or university endorsement process for special deadlines; these deadlines will always precede official U.S. Scholarship deadlines.</li><li>Rhodes scholarship applications must be submitted online, and must be received no later than 11:59 pm October 5th U.S. Eastern daylight time. Applicants are encouraged to begin the online process early and to register endorsers and referees as early as possible to permit the timely preparation and submission of institutional letters.     <description>Ronald H. Brown Pre-Law Summer Program at St. John's University Law School in which talented sophomores and juniors learn what it takes to become a lawyer.  </description>
    <content:encoded xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"><![CDATA[<div class="x_EVShortcutMsgBody">The  goal of the program is to give minority, low income and first  generation college students the tools and support to pursue the study of  law and become attorneys. The students have a simulated law school  experience, have an internship  with a judge and with private law firms or public defenders and  receive a full spectrum of support services to help shape their law  school applications and be successful on the LSAT and beyond.  The program (aside  from a small housing payment) is free! Students may receive a stipend during the program.<br /><br />The  award-wining program has had tremendous success getting students  accepted into law school and getting scholarships. (Students have  received partial and full scholarships.) Some were accepted to schools  considered the top  ranked in the nation, like Yale and NYU. Students are matched with  mentors to shepherd them from application to Bar and beyond. For  the past two years, students have also had a private admissions fair  where they interview with law school admissions  deans. In short, this is an amazing program that can open many doors  for the right students.</div>

<p>The CREW Network Scholarship will be awarded based
 on academic excellence and is intended to help finance the educational

will receive a paid internship at a commercial brokerage firm.</p>
<h2>Scholarship Value:</h2>

<h2>Eligibility Requirements:</h2>

The ideal candidate will be a female enrolled as a full-time student at a

 where the applicant is enrolled in business, finance, architecture,

    <description>One (1) scholarship of $4,000/year with a commitment of three years.
The intent of The 504 Company Merit Scholarship is to assist a second year student who has demonstrated both academic excellence and a strong interest in pursuing a course of study at York College in any of the business areas with the exception of Aviation Management.</description>

Recipients of these scholarships are diverse and inspirational: A widow finding hope and opportunity through education; a recovering addict achieving her dream of graduating from college; a grandmother raising grandchildren with the hope of achieving a more secure future for her family.</description>

<p>To apply for a scholarship, download and print the <a href="http://www.york.cuny.edu/centers-institutes/scholarships/scholarships-calendar/scholarship_application_2010.pdf">Scholarship Application Form</a>.</p>
<p>Fill out the form and mail it to the address provided, along with all 
required documentation by May 1, 2010.</p>
<p>Note that in addition to the application form, you must also provide:</p>
<ul><li>A copy of your college acceptance letter 
</li><li>A copy of the prior year's federal tax return 
</li><li>A 250 word essay titled: "Why I Want to Become a Public School Teacher" 
</li><li>Two letters of recommendation from teachers (mailed separately by them) </li></ul>
