York College Alumni, Inc. Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded for recognition of academic achievement, community service and extracurricular activities.

For the purpose of these scholarships, community service is defined as, services which are rendered to local non-profit, governmental, and community-based organizations, as designed to improve the quality of life for community residents or voluntary contributions made by a student
to the school or community without compensation or academic credit. These activities must be verifiable. Church activities are not considered as community service for these scholarships.

Name of Scholarship Value of Scholarship Description Eligibility

Gilbert T. Boozer Memorial Freshman Scholarship

One (1) scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded. This scholarship is given only to freshman, for recognition of academic achievement, community service and extracurricular activities.
  • Freshman has completed a minimum of 12 credits, but not more than 27 credits.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Also participate in community services projects and/or is actively involved in York College Student Government or a York College Club.

John B.K. Aheto Scholarship for Sophomores

Only one (1) scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded This scholarship is given only to one sophomore, for recognition of academic achievement, community service and extracurricular activities.
  • Sophomore has completed a minimum of 28 credits, but not more than 60 credits.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Also participate in community services projects and/or is actively involved in York College Student Government or a York College Club.

York College Alumni, Inc

Only one (1) scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded This scholarship is given only to one junior, for recognition of academic achievement, community service and extracurricular activities. 
  • Junior has completed a minimum of 61 credits, but not more than 93 credits.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Also participate in community services projects and/or is actively involved in York College Student Government or a York College Club.

Mark Green Athletic Scholarship for Academic Achievement

Only one (1) scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded This scholarship is given to individual of any York College Athletic team.
  • Individual who has maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Also participate in community services projects and/or is actively involved in York College Student Government or a York College Club.
