The Computer and Mathematics Scholar Support Coalition (CMSSC)
Funded by the National Science Foundation, these scholarships are intended to help students majoring in technology fields foster and develop peer communities. Award recipients attend the weekly meetings of the Mathematics and Computer Science club, monthly “calcu-lunch” meetings with faculty, attend presentations made by collaborating partners, and receive individual counseling and advisement from faculty. Scholarship recipients are required to participate in scholarly activities within their discipline.
APPLICATIONS DUE APRIL 30TH
VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP: Twenty-nine (29) scholarships of $3,125 each per year.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Declared major in Mathematics, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or Communications Technology (New and continuing seniors are eligible to apply).
- A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 in the major and 2.5 G.P.A. overall for continuing or transfer students.
- Demonstrated academic potential for incoming freshmen.
- American citizen, national or refugee alien, or permanent resident at the time of application.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Submit a personal statement of 300 to 500 words describing your educational or career objectives. Please remember that your essay should be of the kind that illustrates to the scholarship review committee why you should receive the award.
