York College Aviation Degrees and Program

These are hosted by the Business and Economics department.

Master in Aviation Management

The Master in aviation management program prepares students for mid-and upper-level executive positions in aviation and related fields. The coursework is informed by recommendations from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). These organizations seek to standardize the training of aviation professionals by recommending degree programs that meet the following competencies by incorporating these aims into the curriculum.

Aviation Management, BS

Aviation Management (BS) is an opportunity to prepare students comprehensively for management careers in the industry. Students will complete a program of study that emphasizes business, policy, and the operations of key areas within aviation, including security, aviation safety, and airport planning.

Additionally, they will have the choice of gearing their studies toward preparation for work in for-profit arenas within aviation or for employment in the public aviation sector by selecting appropriate electives from political science, psychology, business, and other areas. A significant strength of the major is the integration of the liberal studies areas with a business curriculum.

FAA Dispatcher Certification

The FAA Dispatcher Certification program allows students to sit for the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Aircraft Dispatch certificate exam. Upon successful completion, students will qualify for dispatcher positions in some of today’s trendiest aviation fields.
