Freshman Admission

Freshmen are students who have never attended college. Even if you have taken college courses during high school, you are still considered a first-time college student, or freshman, and should file accordingly.

Currently in High School

Freshmen applying for Spring 2012 admission will be utilizing the CUNY online application located at www.cuny.edu/prepare. Applicants are encouraged to consult their school's college advisor/guidance counselor for application procedures and time line.

A complete application will consist of the following:

  1. CUNY Freshman Application (online)
  2. $65 application fee
  3. SAT or ACT scores (required)
  4. Official high school transcript

Graduated from High School or GED Recipient

Applicants who have already graduated from high school or who have attained a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) should apply online at www.cuny.edu/prepare.

A complete application will consist of the following:

  • CUNY Freshman Application
  • $65 application fee
  • SAT or ACT scores (only required within one year of high school graduation)
  • Official high school transcript or GED scores and diploma.

Application Deadlines

Applicants are encouraged to apply by February 1st.
