Freshmen Preparatory Requirements

The College recommends the completion of a strong academic program in high school as the best preparation for success in college.

A college preparatory program ideally includes the following by the end of the junior year of high school:

  • 3 years of English
  • 3 years of Social Studies
  • 3 years of Mathematics
  • 2 to 3 years of a Foreign Language
  • 2 to 3 years of Laboratory Sciences
  • 1 year of Performing or Visual Arts

Profile of the Freshmen Class

Freshmen accepted  to York College in the Class of 2010 had a mean college academic average of 82 and a mean SAT combined score (critical reading and mathematics) of 905. (Note: SAT or ACT scores are required for admission).

GED candidates will qualify for admission with scores of 3000 or higher.
