These simply-told but enduring fables will enchant audiences of all ages.
The York College Theatre starts off the 2010-2011 academic year with a world premier play for children and adults of all ages!Created by The Ensemble with Theatre Arts Assistant Professor Tom Marion, Istwa! is a re-telling of four exciting and endearing folktales from around the word: The Brave Little Tailor from Germany, Old Dry Frye from the USA, The Talking Eggs from Haiti, and Too Much Talk from Ghana.
ISTWA is a Creole word meaning STORY, and the story is told in a uniquely theatrical way using the elements of “Story Theatre.” Don’t expect fancy sets or props! It’s the audience’s imagination that’s fully engaged as the energetic company of ten actors physically and vocally create everything needed to bring the story to life!!
