Internal Grant Competitions
The Equipment Grant Competition was initiated in 2002. The goal for this initiative is for internal grants to help investigators purchase an item of laboratory equipment that will strengthen their research program, and thus assist them in applications for external research funding in the near future. Proposals must involve at least two faculty from one college, or among CUNY college.
The Collaborative Incentive Research Grants program encourages multi-campus collaborations by stipulating that researchers from at least two campuses are needed to apply for a grant. Funding for these two-year grants will be up to $50,000 per year.
In addition, there are federally-funded projects within the University that have internal grant competitions. For example, the CUNY-AHFCC Cancer Planning Grant, funded by the National Cancer Institute, has a call for proposals for pilot grants in cancer prevention and control.
The Professional Staff Congress of the City University of New York (PSC-CUNY) Research Award is an annual research competion open to full time faculty members from all disciplines. New and junionor faculty members are especially welcome.
