Mission Statement:

Design, develop, and implement research projects aimed at improving institutional effectiveness and decision making at York College.

Departmental Goals:

Design, develop, and implement statistical research methodologies in collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of institutional data to support strategic planning, assessment, and decision making at the College.

Assist faculty with the design and implementation of assessment projects pertaining to academic programs and courses.

Develop and maintain databases for students and courses. 

Conduct research in support of the strategic planning by utilizing the qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and use the results to improve the quality of education at York. 

Assist the department chairs and faculty to conduct research for program review and assessment processes.

Help schools/departments to design/select and administer reliable assessment measures.

Organizational Structure:

The Office of Institutional Research & Assessment is part of the organizational structure of the office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. The director of OIRA reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President.
