The college also boasts an up-to-the-minute science lab, an expansive micro-computer lab, a 150-seat theatre and a 1500-seat auditorium, which has featured live performances by popular performers and classical musicians such as the Arianna String Quartet and the Juilliard Jazz Ensemble. York's 50-acre campus is also host to the FDA Regional Testing Laboratory, which has partnered with York to provide training and internships for our students as well as faculty exchanges.

Faculty

York's award-winning faculty members pride themselves not just on their teaching abilities, but on their dedication to the development of their students into successful global citizens. It is not unusual for a York professor to spend countless personal hours ensuring that their students succeed in their classes and career choices. It pays off. The Metropolitan New York Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) -- a society dedicated to "advancing the mathematical sciences, especially at the collegiate level" -- recently awarded a precedent-setting two awards to York, making it the first college to have two professors win in the same year. Professor Farley Mawyer, was awarded the Association's "Distinguished Teacher Award for 2006, while Professor Joseph Malkevitch, received the Distinguished Service Award for 2006 from the same organization. In 2017, York Physics Professors Kevin Lynch and James Popp received more than $300,000 grant from the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research to develop a new method to find nuclear contraband in an effort to stem terrorist attacks. In 2018 Biochemistry Professor Louis Levinger, received $508,473.50 from the Department of Defense to fund his research, for which he also hires students in his lab as partners. In 2018 Professor Vadim Moldovan, a Social Work professor received a Fulbright Award -- his second in five years to continue his scholarly work teaching and program development in Moldova.
