Tony Vails Named Second-Team CUNYAC All-Star; Vanessa Rivera Wins Burt Beagle Sportsmanship Award
York College junior guard Tony Vails has been named to the 2012 CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball All-Star team, earning a second-team selection. In addition, senior women’s basketball player Vanessa Rivera was honored with the Burt Beagle Sportsmanship Award. The awards were announced Thursday afternoon during the CUNY Athletic Conference Basketball Press Luncheon.

York College Cricket Club Wins National Championship
The Cricket Club at York College has won the 2012 American College Cricket Championship. York defeated the University of South Florida in the finals on March 18 to win its first-ever national title.

York College Mourns President Emeritus Bassin
The York College/CUNY community is in mourning following the death of its former president, Mr. Milton G. Bassin, who died on August 13, 2012. The president emeritus had been in failing health in recent years but still had a great love for the college to which he was devoted.
