The York College/CUNY community is in mourning following the death of its former president, Mr. Milton G. Bassin, who died on August 13, 2012. The president emeritus had been in failing health in recent years but still had a great love for the college to which he was devoted.

The Department of Business and Economics houses all of the majors in the School of Business and Information Systems except Accounting.
This academically diverse and well-credentialed faculty are drawn from some of the most prestigious doctoral programs in the country, including Columbia, Michigan, Duke, and Cornell.
The Department also houses the B.A. in Economics degree.
Students are prepared for careers in Human Resource Management, Finance, Marketing, Information Systems Management, Aviation Management, and Entrepreneurship.
