York Alum Completes PhD at Yale

Vanessa Crevecoeur-Ducas '07, has completed a doctorate degree six years after graduating from York College/CUNY with her undergraduate degree in Chemistry.
She was the first York student to win the UNCF-Merck Award. Fittingly, it was her York mentor, Chemistry professor, Dr. Ruel Desamero, who shared her graduation news with the college community.

The purpose of the Scholarship Fund is to assist the York Male Initiative Program and Men's Center in its mission of providing a system of support, that contributes to the improvement of enrollment and graduation rates of under represented populations, and particularly male students.

York College Opens State of the Art Nursing Simulation Labs

York College/CUNY recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its brand new state-of-the-art nursing laboratories. The event is especially momentous as York College is the only senior college in the borough of Queens offering a baccalaureate degree in nursing.

York College is included in CUNY’s "2012 Science All Star Team" ad featuring recent grads throughout the university, who have received prestigious scholarship/fellowships to graduate programs. Kirk Haltaufderhyde, ’11, the York graduate featured in the ad, was a mentee of Biology professor, Gerald McNeil. Kirk was recruited to Brown University by Dr. Andrew Campbell (York, ’81) a professor of Medical Science at the Rhode Island-based Ivy League.
