The University and its Colleges view academic freedom as being very important, but at the same time want to recognize their responsibility to provide students with a procedure for addressing complaints about faculty treatment of students that are not protected by academic freedom.

York Alum Awarded $90,000 Soros Fellowship
Robert Fernandez, a member of York College's Class of 2013 is among the 2014 Soros Fellowship for New Americans recipients. Fernandez, a York College Biology alumnus, will receive $90,000 in Tuition Support and Assistance. He is the sole CUNY graduate among the more than 30 graduate students from a cross-section of Ivy League institutions.
