York College Mourns President Emeritus Bassin
The York College/CUNY community is in mourning following the death of its former president, Mr. Milton G. Bassin, who died on August 13, 2012. The president emeritus had been in failing health in recent years but still had a great love for the college to which he was devoted.

York College is included in CUNY’s "2012 Science All Star Team" ad featuring recent grads throughout the university, who have received prestigious scholarship/fellowships to graduate programs. Kirk Haltaufderhyde, ’11, the York graduate featured in the ad, was a mentee of Biology professor, Gerald McNeil. Kirk was recruited to Brown University by Dr. Andrew Campbell (York, ’81) a professor of Medical Science at the Rhode Island-based Ivy League.

The Cricket Club at York College has won the 2012 American College Cricket Championship. York defeated the University of South Florida in the finals on March 18 to win its first-ever national title.

Hopeton Allen wanted a different kind of winter break this year and Italy provided it. The graduating senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Theatre Arts diversified his college experience with a month-long trip as a Study Abroad student in Photography.
