When I started my academic career, I knew I wanted to go to York College. I did not know though what course of study I wanted to pursue. It was in the Behavioral Sciences where my passion grew. Political Science and the Pre-Law program were the disciplines that allowed me to discover altruism.

York Alum Awarded $90,000 Soros Fellowship
Robert Fernandez, a member of York College's Class of 2013 is among the 2014 Soros Fellowship for New Americans recipients. Fernandez, a York College Biology alumnus, will receive $90,000 in Tuition Support and Assistance. He is the sole CUNY graduate among the more than 30 graduate students from a cross-section of Ivy League institutions.
